The Scrum Tester
Oxford dictionary meaning of word “Agile” states – ‘Able to move quickly and easily’, and simply the same concept is being used in managing projects. Though “Agile” being the buzzword for quite some time, the early conceptualization of this term, can been seen in early 2001, when group of people (pioneers in their respective fields), included Ward Cunningham, Kern, Extreme Programming pioneers Kent Beck, Alistair Cockburn, and, Arie van Bennekum, and twelve others, all well known today in the agile community gathered and laid the foundation for what we call the term “Agile”. What came out of that historical meeting is called the Agile manifesto which revolves around below 4 core values to be followed by each and every one in a team:
- Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
- Working software over comprehensive documentation
- Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
- Responding to change over following a plan
