Release Management

Release Management is an important component in the work of multiple scrum teams. With a single scrum team, releases are generally scheduled after each sprint. Even if they are scheduled after multiple sprints are completed the scrum team has an opportunity to introduce regression testing into each cycle so that when the release is ready efforts are minimal.

Release management with multiple scrum teams is a required set of activities and artifacts that ensures that the final deliverable is tested and scalable. Release management can also include holistic approaches across organizes where a product may be impacted by business process or other delivery teams using different methodologies. Releases can be led by operations team members, core members of the scrum team or some combination of the two.
