Creating the Project Vision

In order to create the Project Vision, the Product Owner has a number of ways to get information from stakeholders. The process can be very conversational, with stakeholders simply talking about what they want in the software. Functionality, design, behaviour, and other topics are often discussed, just to see if stakeholders are particularly interested in any specific facet.

Very little is set in stone from the beginning, but it gives the Product Owner and Scrum Team a general idea of the product they will be creating.

In addition to simply talking with stakeholders, a Product Owner can show stakeholders different depictions of other software, to see what they do and don’t like.

Stakeholders may have definite needs in a software product, but no opinion on details. Seeing other products can give stakeholders an idea about what they want their own software to look like, and how it behaves.
