Scrum Defined at Portfolio and Program Level
Many companies already practise programme and portfolio management for comprehensive oversight of all their projects. New roles are also required for programmes and portfolios, namely:-
- Program Product Owner
- Program Scrum Master
- Portfolio Product Owner
- Portfolio Scrum Master
Another major difference is that the Product Owner and Scrum Master roles in a Scrum are transient; the Product Owner in particular returns to his normal job once the project is over. As the Program and Portfolio Product Owner oversee many projects, these roles would be permanent.
