The Scalability Artefacts
There are several artefacts that are needed for large projects that are outside the ambit of smaller efforts. The artefacts are:-
The Portfolio and Program Product Backlogs. These are managed and prioritised in exactly the same way as the simplest Product Backlog. However, they include all the content of all subordinate Product Backlogs.
The Communication Plan – There are various iterations of the communication plan depending at what level the interaction is happening. Just as in conventional project management, this plan ensures that nothing drops between the cracks and that there is visible and transparent communication across the project, program or portfolio.
The Release Readiness Plan. It is suggested that complex projects may require a special sprint prior to releasing the product, ensuring that the product is ready for release. This artefact reports on the activities required to ensure a smooth and trouble-free release.
